MindCraft
MindCraft: Perceptions is a 67 page collection of effects that deal directly with thoughts. Only three of them need anything tangible, and only one requires writing; the rest can be performed naked. Combat with your thoughts, divine birthdays, scam bar mates, use two different cold reading presentations, make your spectator see words they never saw, verbally force cards in seconds, psychologically force thoughts, bend the wills of an audience; let your spectator read your mind, another spectators mind, or even speak life into being.
  • Thought Dueling; a new, foolproof way to reveal thoughts. Imagine standing back to back with a friend. You are each armed with a thought. A thought that exists only within the realms of your mind. A thought that was never written, a thought that was never spoken. You never touched them, never asked them a question. Imagine standing back to back. Stride off five paces. Then turn, aim, and send your thoughts with perfect precision for each other's skulls. As they sink in, you both call out the other's thought aloud. And.. They match.
  • On Thin Ice: A powerful new reading system that enables you to help your clients not only learn more about themselves, but make changes to their subconscious. Use with care. Pablo Amira called On Thin Ice "Pure gold!"
  • Gone: The performer shows a spectator 6 cards. Each has a word on it. He asks the spectator to just think of one of the words. The mentalist then shows that their card has disappeared, then proceeds to read their mind, and then show that the reason it wasn't in the stack was because, the entire time, the card they thought they saw was in his pocket. Very positive feedback on Gone has been given by both reviewers and those on the Magic Cafe.
  • The Fair came to me when I thought of all the ways to verbally force a card, both psychological and equivocal. To be right every time, I decided to choose equivocal. At the same time I wanted it to be a fast effect that seemed free, yet left spectators wondering what hit them. To do this, I took Occam’s Razor to equivoque as a whole and used what I came up with. In under thirty seconds, you can verbally force a card, 100% of the time; without the major drawback to normal equivoque card forcing.
  • Prime is a unique psychological forcing technique. There are some very, very remote cases in which it could possibly fail, but I would estimate them to be under 2-3%, and there are further adaptations that you can make to the effect to remove even these small chances. Nothing is written down, nothing is spoken, no questions are asked. You just name their thought, or predict it in whatever way you can conceive. You don't even need to see your spectator. Literally dozens of applications, adaptations, and tips for Prime are given in MindCraft. Notes are added by myself, Giani the Mentalist (a.k.a Decomposed), Paul Carnazzo (Mental Voyage wallet cards), and Ran Pink (Think Pink!, TACTILIS, White Room). Amira said that Prime can be "an astonishing piece".
A quote from Ran on the effect: "My favorite part about Prime is that it's easy to remember ... and the fact that you can study the thought process of others by watching them think." There are literally dozens of presentations and twists on Prime included, and pages of additional notes on it. You can force thoughts, or truly perceive with stunning accuracy what words your spectators are thinking of in real time.
